Has it Really Been That Long...
It doesn't seem like it has been over a month since I last posted, but maybe that is because we have been very busy. Here is what we have been up to...
Nothing has changed in the past month with Kimball, he is still running. He ran a race last Saturday after it had snowed. It was only 31* outside and the wind in his face made it even more chilly. I guess when you are die hard you don't stop for anything.
Sophia turned 7 on November 17th. She counted down to her birthday for weeks and as the days passed her wish list got longer and longer. But it finally arrived and she got almost everything on her list. She was a very happy girl. She chose to go to Applebee's for her birthday dinner. She kept reminding us every time the waitress came NOT to tell them it was her birthday. But her hearts desire was that she could get free ice cream, so we told them and she was embarrassed and elated:) Happy Birthday Soda Pop!
Kate turned Kate turned 10 on November 15th. It was a happy day if you can't tell by the smile on her early morning face. She had been hoping we would get her a Kindle. She was more than happy to have that be about all she got. She has become a great reader and is loving it. She went to Olive Garden on her birthday and was also serenaded. Happy Birthday Bug!
Of course, who can forget the excitement of Halloween. Kate was a gypsy. Sophia was a vampire. Hope was a witch again. The had fun at our ward party the weekend before. Then on Halloween night they hit the streets. The weather was so nice they didn't even have to wear coats. They had a fun time with friends and, of course, ate to much candy.
The week before Halloween we had to make the annual trip to the pumpkin patch. As always, it takes some time to find the perfect pumpkin, but we did it once again. They had fun and we carved them a few days later only to find a couple of them rotten inside. Oops, I should have checked them closer before we bought them. Lesson learned for next year :)

Swim Lessons ... A Necessary Evil
Summer means swim lessons whether you like it or not! My mom did it to me and I am doing it to my sweet little munchkins. The girls took three sessions and it ended up being a lot. They were Monday through Thursday for 1/2 hour each day, except Hope she only took two sessions. But it has all been worth it, they are doing great. Their fear of water is diminishing which brings a smile to my face.

We found that goggles are a key to our success! We don't leave home without them. Sophia was going off the slide by the 2nd session and the diving board by the 3rd session.

Hope loved it, this is her blowing her bubbles. After 4 weeks she was a little burned out though.

Mini Me
When I was a little girl, which really wasn't that long ago, I was a neat freak! I was a fanatic about keeping my room clean (which I shared with a little sister). Everything was always put away. I loved to vacuum it because then it had those nice lines on the floor. I just loved how it looked when it was all nice and tidy. Then it got a little out of control, I began cleaning my brothers room because I couldn't stand how messy it was. I know that they totally didn't appreciate it, but it made me feel better. I loved doing it until one day they made a fatal mistake, they began calling me their maid. It drove me crazy that their room was a mess but they were NOT going to call me their maid. Another time my parents took us to some of their friends house in Mapleton. They were going to babysit us for a couple of hours and asked what we would like to do. They took me to their game closet and I almost had a heart attack. Oh my goodness, there were games and pieces everywhere, it was totally unorganized. I asked if it would be okay if I just cleaned their closet. I think they were embarrassed (I would be if a kid did that to me), but they let me do it. My parents were totally embarrassed when they found out that was what I had done all day.
I have no idea what happened once I got married and had kids, obviously you have to let a few things go, which finally gets me to my point. So my kids have jobs. Like Sophia, was supposed to vacuum the front room, dust, and then put everything back. So yesterday she was vacuuming up next to the kitchen. She asked if she could use the hose and clean up on the tile, of course I let her. Then she got over to the other side by the pantry and it was messy in the pantry. She asked if she could just vacuum out the pantry , which lead to moving everything out of it and throwing things away. It reminded me so much of myself, she is my little mini me. You can literally draw a line down Kate and Sophia's room and tell whose side is whose. Her bed is always made, her half of the dresser neat and tidy. Kate's has stacks a mile high. Its fun to watch your kids develop, what makes one clean and one messy. I just don't get it, but I love them just the same!

Kate Bug ...they say its your birthday!
Where do I start! Lets just say I can't imagine life without our Kate Bug! She is so pretty, happy, loving, kind, caring, and considerate. She is definitely the middle child. She is a peacemaker in our home. It's really hard to believe that she turns 9 years old today. Kate loves to be with family and friends. She has been a singer since she could talk. Kate loves to read and excels in school. She loves to accessorize...yep, fancy hairdos, lots of hair flowers, headbands, etc. She loves to wear scarves and owns way to many pairs of shoes. She loves to listen to music. I feel so blessed to have such a fun daughter. We love you sooooo much. Happy Birthday to you!
